Gonna be a know it all...Trojan horse doesn't happen in the Iliad. Poem ends with the burial of Hector. The Trojan horse is a story Odyessius recounts in the Odyessy. So it makes even more senses to have it here. Essential even that Nolan tell the story of the Trojan horses.
Yup, I know (I have actually recently read both the Odyssey and Iliad :D) I wasn't really referring to the horse specifically, but rather to any battle scene from the events of the Iliad.

Didn't know his dog's name but that gives me hope! I guess the dates in Greece or Sicily could be wrongwhile the location is true.
Would be great if he shot Troy and the city on Ithacus in Morocco.
Then all the real location stuff in Sicily and Greece, and the studio stuff in London. The mediterranean sea is not particularly violent so hopefully he'll do the ship stuff mostly in Sicily and only a few shot in studio.

As the workshop is numerous and the needs for support spaces are enough, The assistance of the Municipality has been requested and the allocation of two buildings for use. These are the Cultural Center and the Old School (Syggrou Building) in Methoni. Also, the concession of the plot located in beach of Methoni (near Camping) to meet the needs of creation base of production. The use of these spaces concerns the period 3/2 – 28/3.

-Cave Nestoros – Voidokilia Beach: Filming will take place indoors and outside the Nestor Cave and on the path that leads to the beach of Voidokilias. Filming days will be from March 13 to March 20 2025. From the beginning of February until March in the region of Voidokilias, works will be carried out to prepare the scenography department and production. Work will start from the fastening or removal of any loose parts from the area of the cave entrance, as well as and cleaning the area and fencing the hole in its roof.

Because of the geographical position of the Cave of Nestor for its access film crew and equipment at the scene will be used the adjacent beach of Voidokilia and any works to improve access become, will be temporary and reversible, while the last ten days of March will be the full restoration of the site.

-Beach Almirolakas: There will be an outdoor night shoot at the Beach Almirolakas on Friday, March 21. Work on site preparation They will take place between 24/2 and 20/3.

 Good find, but nothing here confirms that this would be for The Odyssey, does it? Also, the dates evoked correspond to those evoked for Sicily. I hope though it's for The Odyssey because the places look great and make me want to visit this part of Greece.

Production designer hasn't been confirmed I think but definitely did a great job with those gorgeous location in Greece. Although it must be fun to be a scout for a film taking place entirely in islands in the mediterranean sea.

A feature-length fiction film, entitled “Charlie’s Tale”, will be filmed in March and April at archaeological sites, mainly in Messinia, but also in Corinth, as revealed by a decision recently signed by the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, in order to approve the filming and set the conditions for the use of monuments.

The request to the ministry was submitted by the production company “NAFA Monoprospi SA” and a filming and aerial filming permit was granted at archaeological sites under the jurisdiction of the Ephorate of Archaeology of Corinth, Messinia, the Ephorate of Paleoanthropology and Speleology, as well as the Underwater Antiquities.

Actors and stuntmen
According to the decision, filming and aerial filming will take place in the cave of Nestor, in the surrounding area of ​​the cave and on the beach of Voidokilia, on the beach of "Almyrolaka", in the Castle and the bay of Methoni and on Acrocorinth.

Within the archaeological sites, torches and special effects will be used by actors and stuntmen, under the supervision of certified professionals in the field, with the exclusive responsibility of the production company, and with the observance of all safety measures.

The ministry has also informed the production company that the entry of animals (horses, dogs, pigs, lambs, etc.) for the needs of filming in the monuments, specifically in the interior and surrounding area of ​​Nestor's Cave, as well as in the Acrocorinth Castle, is permitted exceptionally and under the control and constant monitoring of special managers and certified production professionals.

Special conditions
Also, the ministry has set the production company special conditions for each archaeological site.

Specifically, for the Methoni Castle, a technical description and drawings for the materials and the method of light and fully reversible filling of the castle's walls must be submitted for approval.

For the Nestor's Cave and its surrounding area, a detailed technical report with geotechnical, rock mechanics and static calculations must be submitted for approval. The use of temporary sets within the cave is exceptionally permitted, provided that their installation is carried out with the least possible intervention. The technical details of the described scenographic interventions must be submitted (stage “gate”, fire pit with special effect mechanism, running water effect, construction of a 6X6 m mechanical anthropomorphic puppet with controls that will be supported by the hole in the cave ceiling), which must be temporary, fully reversible and constructed exclusively with portable elements, without the application of ramming or drilling into its walls.

For the suspension and stabilization of the lattice structure, appropriate means and materials must be used as much as possible, such as equipment used by aerialists, which will be wedged in appropriately. To protect the cave embankments, a geotextile must be placed on the floor and a 5 cm thick layer of sand must be applied. (with admixture of white cement in a very small proportion), which will be removed after the completion of the works. Aerial means should be used to transport the materials inside the cave.

The access points from Voidokilia beach to Nestor's cave, the placement of makeshift stairs and sandbags with stakes and ropes, as well as the placement of a floating platform on the south side of Voidokilia beach, should be done after consultation with the competent Ephorate of Antiquities of Messinia, as there are identified antiquities on the vertical walls of the rocky end towards the top of the hill.

For the filming at "Almyrolaka" beach, a topographic diagram should be prepared, where the identified antiquities should be recorded, in order to avoid any damage or damage to them. The site preparation work, the installation of the sets, as well as the filming work, should be carried out at a sufficient distance from them. For the temporary anchoring of the ships and the filming work in the area of ​​the bay of Methoni, where there are sunken antiquities, as well as on the beach of Voidokilia and "Almyrolakka", the production company should submit a description of all the work and installations required, as well as the relevant technical details.
