Was wondering the same thing. If it's not stage stuff my guess would be (without knowing the story that well) some coasts that have a different look from the mediterranean ones.

and/or

anything that has to do with the ship.

I also wonder why he chose to do the stage stuff in the UK. I would suppose he has some real locations. The islands in the North-west don't look mediterranean but they are still very little impacted by modern society for some of them.

Tax relief. That is why.

I'm sure it will only be stage stuff in the UK.

I imagine there's quite a lot of things to shoot in a built set - boat interior (if needed), palace interior, any sort of similar buildings,
cyclops cave?
But, also, Scotland looks pretty epic, so...:D

For those of you who know the story well: Is there a description of the ship(s)?

Because I think we can all agree that the ship will be real and any action will be shot as much in-camera as possible.

Has Nolan ever shot only stage stuff in a location, except California?
For Tenet and Oppenheimer, he shot most of the stage stuff in a country where he was already shooting a lot in real location, in order to negotiate better tax relief (Estonia and New Mexico). I think Syncopy argued using the number of job created during shooting to negotiate closing the highway in Tallinn for a long period of time.(the negotiation had been particularly difficult)
If he was just looking for a studio, he could have shot in Morocco, since he already has to go there on location and it's less expensive than the UK.

Wasn't there that one particular studio in the UK where they shot quite a lot of stuff for Batman Begins?
