And yes he challenges the system. But to say that his film couldn't be more anti studio is exaggerated. He's not the Russo or Favreau, but he's also not Malick, Hamaguchi, Weerasethakul or Ken Loach, let's be real ( nor does he try to be, he says himself he's making his movies for the audience)
I think you may be exaggerating a bit there too. To me, Hamaguchi's Drive My Car is anti studio but not really inaccessible. I believe people can follow its drama despite its complexity if they want to stick around for the 3 hours. Dunkirk, the way I see it, isn’t that accessible but might be seen as such due to its set pieces mainly although within that still challenging if you ask me, and still worked as blockbuster. I mean, Chungking Express from Wong Kar Wai seems very anti studio to me yet I feel it could resonate with a wider audience as well. If anything, Malick makes more sense to me in what you were trying to explain. Maybe I’m wrong but those are my thoughts.

Anyway, I think the point is that "one for me and one for them" on filmmakers like Nolan is really not very applicable even if he is not of the approach of Malick, Tarkovsky, Godard, Bergman, etc. Or the ones you mentioned, on a general basis.

we need new info..
please someone helpppppp

what is this new movie
I get it. I have been looking online for more updates but as usual, this seems to me as going for the long run. Does anyone know if for his other films major announcements were made in December?

On one hand, this cast makes me think it could be for a horror film. But it could also be for something like interstellar imo.

Marvel has remade their bed, they can't afford to thirdmake it so I doubt this'll happen. Personally I don't think it needs to, Robert did a great job and got an Oscar out of his first artistic collab. Maybe a second is still possible in the future, but there's already enough schedule working around with this film anyway so adding more to the table might be difficult unless it's only a cameo.

Will not happen, RDJ has Marvel in his first position. They're giving him more money, he has a bigger role, so he has to prioritize them when it comes to scheduling. He's contractually obligated to, working with Nolan has to be a great experience but this is a business and you have to prioritize the people who are giving you the most money.

He might end up being able to do both but Marvel will always take top priority as they should in this case.

Actually thought of you when I heard the news.
I literally pulled over on the side of the road so I could make sure it was true.

Yeah, I don't need Downey. In fact, I love him so much in Oppenheimer, I hope its a one and done in Nolan movie. Just a feeling. Also, with Holland in here...it would seem off.

Anyways, with all the hotties in this movie, hope Nolan got a real good taste of some nudity in Oppenheimer, and we get some sexy stuff in this. Hope Damon gets to be a pussy-hound.

Yeah, Holland, Zendaya, AND RDJ in one movie? Not a great idea.
And that's got nothing to do with their talents or with disappearing into their roles.
