I think it would be interesting to be able to discuss the merits of movies by directors with a similar style or subject matter. You would likely have to poll the members to determine which directors would be most desired. In some topics however I have had or read some very good discussions about other directors and their work.

This could really increase activity on the board and provide ways for people to expand their tastes.
