I am so happy for Chris finally getting this accolade. DGA awarding him is an EXCELLENT sign of finally capturing that Oscar. I think this, in addition to all the great interview/appearance work he's put in... Universal has done a phenomenal job with this campaign.

"So, okay, I haven’t got Michael Caine, I’d better get Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Kenneth Branagh, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Cillian Murphy, Tom Conti, and hoped that all those greats would add up to one Michael Caine.”

Love that My Cocaine was there.

Spotting him in Nolan movies feels like meeting that nice distant Uncle during Christmas.

I went to see Poor Things and The Holdovers recently.
Also saw Killers of the Flower Moon last year. Didn't see Barbie yet.

It's some tough competition Oppenheimer is up against. I would love to see it win best picture, director and best actor, but I feel it won't be happening, at least not for all three of them.
I can see why Poor Things could win best picture, but personally I hope it won't. For me it is "screaming" too loud: Look at how artistic and crazy we are! And I don't mind nudity or sex scenes in general, but it was done over the top in my opinion in Poor Things. Felt more like porn in the second half and yes I understand what the film wants to tells us, but I felt it could have done the same thing without being that explicit ALL the time. Saw it alone and was glad I was to myself.
Emma Stone was incredible, though!

And I couldn't stand the music in Poor Things.
Here I see no real competition for Göransson. I am listening to his score up and down and can see the wohle picture in front of my eyes.

I enjoyed The Holdovers very much. Could also be a little surprise Best Picture Win. Paul Giamatti was very good but I feel like Cillian Murphy should win because I think Oppenheimer relies more on his shoulders to carry us through the movie and not getting lost.

Edit:
And for fun, I make my own predictions (note: I have nothing to do with filmbusiness whatsoever :) )

Will win:
Best director
Best actor
Best camera
Best score
Best editing
Best sound

Will not win:
(all the others ;) )
