I'm sorry, but that character was very memorable in the book. To reduce her to a stressed mother? She was a bad mother, a scorned wife, an alcoholic. He relied so much on her too. Where did it all go?
You watched the movie already or basing yourself on that person's reaction to the film?

Keep in mind this is an early reaction so they might have omitted details. And you clearly read the book and I haven’t.

But we haven’t seen the film yet so let’s wait until we see it ourselves.

I'm just going by what he said and contrasting it to how that character was described in the book.
