Nolan's movies are future proof - shot on location with practical effects and on 70mm film. They more than satisfy 8K HDR criteria. No other filmmaker has that leverage.
Oppenheimer must render its CGI at particularly hi res - it is very difficult to make convincing CGI with higher resolution. It'll take quite some time. So makes sense what you are saying about post production.

Wonder if this will cause Oppenheimer to move it’s date, as MI7 now releases a week before.

MI7 has moved so many times, better not to focus on it for now. It would be a shame for Paramount to not offer MI7 more than one week in Imax.
