Dunkirk is critically acclaimed (8.7 on rotten tomatoes, 94/100 metacritic, 9th best film of 2017 by BFI, 2nd best film of decade by Tarantino), but only 7.9/10 on IMDb.

I do remember it being on the IMDb top 250, but it gradually fell off the list.

Tenet on the other hand, had much more lukewarm reviews by critics and didn't even make it onto the top 250 list at all.

Nolan hasn't had a top 250 film since Interstellar. What happened?

Imdb ratings has a wide user rating system so films liked mostly among everyone do good (comic book, adaptations, fun films).

Maybe Nolan is steering away from making the popular draws because he has done it already.
