It's not. It's been LIEMAX for a long time. The only REAL IMAX locations are Forth Worth Museum which is a dome IMAX and the other option is Cinemark 17 IMAX which is a digital IMAX but has the ability to convert back to 70mm projection when needed (this is where I saw Dunkirk in 70mm). Neither one of them have confirmed Tenet in 70mm and I'm nervous. The Special One wrote: ↑August 9th, 2020, 11:27 pmYou guys have one of the few true IMAX locations in AMC Northpark 15, I'm positive you will get it.gropercity wrote: ↑August 9th, 2020, 10:47 pmI hope we get some confirmation of a 70mm IMAX showing in Dallas.

Does anyone here know if there’s any real 70mm projectors in the Midwest? I live in St. Louis so I can pretty much go anywhere in the Midwest in good time and I want to see Tenet in 70mm
This one? only a 3h drive. totally worth it.

I don't think Evansville is 70mm; I can't find anywhere where it mentions that it is.danevito wrote: ↑August 10th, 2020, 7:32 pmThis one? only a 3h drive. totally worth it.

BTW I filled out the "Contact Us" form on IMAX's website and wrote them the following letter:
Good evening IMAX team,
Your search feature as listed here:
https://www.imax.com/theatres
does not seem to list which IMAX theatres are of the 70mm variety.
Will you be publishing a list of cinemas where Tenet can be viewed in IMAX 70mm format?
You may recall that you published such a list prior to the release of Nolan's previous film Dunkirk:
https://www.imax.com/news/experience-du ... imax-laser
It was an extremely helpful list for your most dedicated fans.
70mm is the way Tenet was meant to be seen!
Eagerly awaiting your reply,
The website glitched so I'm not sure if it got sent correctly but we shall see. I encourage everyone to send a similar message!
If you are as eager to get a 70mm list as me,
just go to https://www.imax.com/content/contacts
copy+paste my message, edit it a bit and sent them a comment!

yes, dont take my word for it. always check with mail or call them.
they might have switched to digital or laser.
check this place also
https://bransonimax.com/ (4h drive)
You should really be happy if you find the 1.44 format IMAX screen even if they switched to dual lasers.

Showplace IMAX is not 70mm. Check out this website and filter by IMAX and the US: https://lfexaminer.com/theaters/

Person on Twitter: "@BFI Hi guys, any plans for Interstellar again at the BFI IMAX in London?"
BFI reply: "We're yet to confirm our reopening plans, but we hope we can show it again at some point!"
Not a tone suggesting even a tentative reopening, for pretty much THE flagship cinema of the UK? I want my first watch to be in 70mm because my first impressions always stick fast, but the way this is going, if they don't put tickets up at the same time as other venues, it'll be either 4 hours drive each way if Vue Printworks is open in Manchester, or I'll just have to see it on one of the local crummy multiplex screens :/ Otherwise one could end up waiting for this venue (which is marked for redevelopment) to re-open with no result while you miss the entire theatrical window full stop.
Wish they'd at least keep people updated, in such unprecedented times, I'm sure people will understand there being disruptions to entertainment services and suchlike as long as they feel like they're being kept in the loop.

Does anyone here from or going to the BFI IMAX in London know when it will open? The film is 2 weeks away and it still hasn't given an indication of when it will open up.
