With Dunkirk, the number that was thrown around was 70%. No info has been released in regards to Tenet thoughKEM wrote: ↑July 8th, 2020, 2:36 amDo we know yet what percentage of the movie is shot on IMAX? Or how many scenes? The 'colors' in the 2nd trailer where JDW was escorting the VIP looks really good. Do you think that was filmed with IMAX cameras?

There aren’t numbers but Nolan did say (not the exact words but something like it) this is the most experienced based movie for theaters he’s made. So I’m guessing there will be more IMAX scenes, and they also built new technology for IMAX to work on this film based on what I read from one of the cast members.DylanHoang wrote: ↑July 8th, 2020, 10:20 amWith Dunkirk, the number that was thrown around was 70%. the entire prologue sequence was filmed with IMAX film cameras
That is not true. I saw the prologue in 1.43:1 IMAX and they definitely used 70mm for most of the dialogue scenes.the entire prologue sequence was filmed with IMAX film cameras
But the whole prologue sequence was in 1.43:1? Non-IMAX 70mm cameras uses 2.20:1 aspect ratio, and I didn't see any changes to the AR in the dialogue scenes.

I'm really not sure what changes you saw. I saw that thing 6x in theatres (in IMAX70MM) and have a damn good cam version on my computer. There are none, especially given the fact that all the dialogue stuff involves JDW with a mask on which makes shooting dialogue with those cameras much easier.
I'm seconding that. Saw it in multiple IMAX theaters, one of which was 70mm. There were absolutely no aspect ratio changes.
well didnt see it in theaters so i wouldnt know, but im guessing the wardrove for the scene would allow usage of IMAX cameras, much like the space suit scenes in Interstellar, the only scenes with people without masks speaking are the two Ukranian guys in the Van, and the VIP, who only has 3 lines of dialog ( And there are no friends at dusk, but i stablished contact, service tunnel to the sewer) im guessing cleaning any camera noise from their lines wouldnt be such a big issue, i mean they are what, like 5 lines total ?
Does anyone have a HQ prologue copy? I am anxious to see the film sometime in the near-decade...thanks pandemic and leadership!
