There’s one change in the final version that I really just don’t like...
When JDW is running around grabbing the bombs, in the original version it shows him running to the final bomb and we can see the swat guy running up the stairs and putting his gun to JDW’s head and then we see his reaction and what he says to him, whereas in the final version it shows the crowd asleep and then immediately switches to the swat guy with his gun to JDW’s head and JDW immediately says his line, it gives you no sense of timing or spatial awareness and it’s just a really jarring, bad cut if I’m being honest
Agreed. That is the only moment I like better in the prologue. They should have kept it the same.
It’s so strange that they cut it out because it’s literally only like 2-3 more seconds of footage but it’s essential to be able to pace the scene properly and give the audience all the info they need to fully understand the situation he’s in, makes no sense they got rid of it.
Agreed. It's is wierd that everywhere else in the prologoue seems to add spacetial material...them crawling over the bodies, in the original prologue, without those shots it seemed like a continuity error; same with JDW shooting the second guy in the VIP box. So I love everything about the beginning and it improves the prologue, but that one moment, the one we are talking about is very wierd...No Idea what the deal is.

Exactly!! Everything else, like him shooting the other person in the VIP room, them running over the knocked out people, JDW running down into the rally point, all of that helps the pacing drastically and gives you a sense of where everything is at and how the scene plays out, but then they just cut out arguably one of the most important parts of the entire sequence...

Could it have been so they can match the scene with the soundtrack on time?

That’s certainly possible, but that also wouldn’t make any sense because they could’ve easily looped the TENET arp for like 4 more bars to make that shot fit in, so I don’t think that’s the reason. Maybe they were really pushing for the film to be under 2 and a half hours and that happened to be a shot they cut.

Did anyone notice that the "Rainy Night in Tallin" track from the OST is actually a direct edit of the Prologue track released in December and tinier bit different sounding in the actual film?
It's 99% the same, but that 1% is in small differences in the rhytm of the bass in the very opening, as well in towards the middle, that doesn't flow as smooth and consistent as it does in the official OST and the December Prologue.
The album version is some sort of film version / suite hybrid. They shuffled some parts, extended some other parts and cut some stuff out. The film version is a weird hybrid of the prologue version and the album version. So there are essentially three versions of the track.
