#Tenet teaser just played in front of #HobbsAndShaw. VERY short but built up well with the music. Quick looks at the characters and some action. It absolutely feels like a Nolan movie. I started to get chills just trying to imagine what this could be about. I’m PUMPED for 2020.

MUSIC!!!! I wanna hear the music. But everyone description is so vague it's killing me. I want details. Close ups? Wide shots. How does it show scale if it's close ups?

How can we say a tagline is stupid when we don't even know what this movie is really about?
Because when a newish to the scene black actor grabs the lead in a $250 million Nolan movie that's a huge statement, and an unusual move in Hollywood, even in 2019. And when you then tag the movie with a "new kind of protagonist" there will be people who are offended by that. And they will be vocal about it.

Doesn't matter what the movie is about. The tagline will be offensive to some. And why would you want a potentially-offensive tagline for your movie? There have to be a hundred ways you can get across what you're trying to say. Use a different one.
At this point, you are assuming so much with that statement.
is it really an assumption if multiple people have already rolled their eyes at it?

nobody is accusing nolan or this film of racism, so you guys can already calm down with your token “omg everything is offensive these days” posts. the tagline just calls for unnecessary controversy, that’s all. it might have a deeper meaning within the context of the film, but we won’t find that out for months at least. there’s nothing mysterious or complex within that phrase. it sounds random so it doesn’t invite you to wonder about the plot first. so while you can all think it tooootally means something else, most people won’t pick up on those deeper meanings even if there are any. you don’t have to hate nolan to see this is at least awkward

I'm out of town, so who knows when I'll see that #Tenet trailer, but sources indicate that the new #ChrisNolan film features a guilt-ravaged dad, a dead wife and a supporting role for Michael Caine.

"Time has come for a new protagonist."
"Time has come for a new kind of mission."

I'm reading these more as "time" being an actual threat. The approaching "time" being the inciting incident.
#Tenet
