This whole situation is really kind of sad, though. After having seen Tenet, while binge-watching Sons of Anarchy with my mother in quarantine, TV spots came on ads at least once per episode for the movie and she was clearly watching them (as she would comment on/quote every other ad that would pop up, and for this she would say "Is that the Twilight boy?"). Yet, she is still completely 1000% unaware of the film's existence or that any movie theaters are actually opened up anywhere in the country. I can't imagine that a lot of people really much know what Tenet is.
And it's nobody's fault, really... but it even surprises me that the likes of Honest Trailers, Pitch Meetings, Cinemasins, etc. completely neglected Dunkirk, and PM has yet to hit Tenet despite the fact that it jumped right on Mulan (to be fair, perhaps he went VOD for Mulan and hasn't yet jumped into any theaters yet). As much of blockbusters than Nolan's movies are, it's weird that outside of Batman you can really hit obscurity with some of his latest post-TDKR. He definitely isn't a household name, that's for true.

For some reason TENET stopped playing at the Vineland in LA. I know Paramount drive in is top grossing location for the film. Weird...

He’s a renowned director although not everybody knows his name let alone what movies the guy has made. The ongoing situation has people interested in other things (like netflix maybe since they probably don’t want to go to cinemas) more than whatever is in theaters or if the aforementioned are open for that matter like you kind of said. So, some people expected Tenet to rely on Nolan’s name alone and to do as much money now as it could before the pandemic? Seriously, I just don’t get it.
Regardless of what anyone thinks their favorite Nolan film is, The Dark Knight is still the very centre of Nolan's filmography. Joker was the heart, his acting was brilliant. Since then, there have been five movies but no noteworthy performance of an actor in them. That's exactly what my point is! Nolan and Warner Bros said it is made to experience in Theatres, articles made it as "Theatre Saving Concept". He gave a fantastic emotional performance.
The ensemble cast in inception had great chemistry too.
