Elizabeth Debicki, Clémence Poésy and Dimple Kapadia will all be villains.

Nolan never learns.

Never learns what ? from what i recall, 2 times in nolan`s films there have been female villains, Inception and The dark knight rises, in Following the girl is an accessory for the main villain, so i don't count it here, plus i just can't see any inclination towards the "women are evil" trope that i see in other films.

It’s a common criticism amongst critics that Nolan generally does terrible women in his films.
One of the Empire magazine critics-
it's a problem with Nolan's women I may have droned on about before. Shares the Bond format where 50% of women are evil.
I naively hope things will be improved with this film. Debicki did choose this over other projects she had offers for.

It's not surprising and it's not necessarily a flaw. People write from what they can relate to. Nolan is a white male and a father, so his movies tend to revolve around white males that are fathers. Jordan Peele writes black characters. Greta Gerwig writes female characters.

I'm with you. They're authors, not machines.

He's had difficulties for a long time (although the female character of Following was quite good imo). It wasn't just writing (Memento), it was also casting (BB) and directing (Swank and Johannson are quite bland compared with their other works). But I think Mal, Selina and Murph were all really great characters with great writing, great casting, great performances (and Ariadne and Brand were also good). So if it was a problem, it is not that much anymore, although there was still the Miranda character in TDKR which wasn't that good.

Rebecca Hall is one of the best performances in any Nolan film.

For what it's worth one of the Estonian articles mentioned that Nolan has met with this Estonian Actor:

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5396626/
I don´t have IMDBPro, but how or why you think or you heard that Nolan have met with Reimo Sagor ( guy on this link). This is not interesting, how many famous actors there have casted, but even yesterday there were news that there still have no contract about shooting places. And what about Laagna Road then before 10th July they even not discussed closure. But this video shows mayor of Tallinn and shooting locations, what Nolan team wants.https://uudised.tv3.ee/eesti/uudis/2019 ... u-maanteel

In this video from local news TV3 https://uudised.tv3.ee/meelelahutus/uud ... ke-cv-sse/ there have lots of estonian actors included from Draamateater.I saw some second Riho Kütsar ,Oja dynasty ( brothers Rein and Tõnu with son Pääru and his girfriend.Reimo Sagor. It might be very good choice, because Riho and Rein was playing only bad guys from movies and Tõnu only losers,Because he looks like loser.

First one who got interviewed is Üllar Luup long time TV journalist in Kanal2 and some last year in TallinnTV (official TvChannel of Tallinn https://et.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%9Cllar_Luup Second one is HDTanel-most famous youtuber and TVhost.49 000 subscribers on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/HDTanel ka Tanel Lepp. Tvhost on TV3
