He really wants to blow us away !!Demoph wrote: ↑March 16th, 2019, 1:55 pmCroatia is a great place for... holidays also. And Hungary is a great place to shoot. Villeneuve is already shooting Dune there. And Hungary has welcomed lots of shootings, because they have a long experience in film production and it cost less to shoot there than in Pinewood, LA... Usually, Nolan shoots in LA the studio part, if he decides to shoot in Hungary, which is the most likely interpretation of the tweet imo, it means he's really saving every penny... to put as much as possible on the screen!
Ok now I suddenly have this feeling that it will be some kind of modern take/approach inspired by North by Northwest !! This idea of a lot of shooting locations all around different places etc... It will be a big cinematic travel !!
And Dunkirk already had an Hitchcokian feeling so now I think it will even more strip down his style and work.
And it sticks absolutely with this idea of showmanship which he talked about, of this idea of bringing new fresh ideas, proposing new cinematic experience, new cinematic travel for audiences (give them a reason to leave the house !), he will purify his work even more by finding again a new sort of compromise between new cinematic challenges, new story developments challenges and his regular themes (the idea of time etc...)
I believe this project will have something really special, a new turning point in his filmography/work.
He really wants to mark audience by embarking it to a amazing experience. (and don't forget the "IMAX").
So yess, now I believe in this "North by Northwest in tone" description, Hitchcock after all was the master of suspens and the movie was at the origins of blockbusters.
But make sure of one thing, it will be Nolan-ish, Nolan is not Hitchcock.
New Nolan's masterfully suspensful drama thriller incoming
