I can't believe we don't have a title for this thing yet.

We don't even have a vague idea of the genre or synopsis.

It comes out in practically 15 months.

I'm seriously curious about what the budget for this is. It has to be kind of risky.

That’s primarily why I think it will be a smaller film.

I think I agree.

Either it's a smaller film, or it's an IP.
One or the other.

Inception "2" is very likely, in my opinion.

For the record now (and not to be smart-ass post factum):

It won't be related to Inception by any means.

Such a Filmmaker at this point of career doing some kind of even remote... Ehh.

But enjoy your discussion :*

Remember last week when we had 24 hours of casting announcements?

Ah, good times.

Just out of general interest. Based on what Interstellar and the dark knight films were, do people consider Dunkirk a 'smaller film'. Is that what people mean by smaller film? Or are people thinking he's going pre-Batman level small for this.

Because if it's the second, you are kidding yourself.

I think we can all agree in saying that Dunkirk was a smaller film. It was smaller in scope, at least. There were still epic undertones that corroborated with its summer release.

Dunkirk is factually a smaller film, in my opinion. I know that sounds ridiculous.
It's smaller in running time, smaller in story and scope, it has smaller leads. It even takes place in a smaller amount of time too. It's his shortest script. Smallest amount of dialogue.
It's his smallest film since Insomnia.

That's not to say it's a small film compared to Non-Nolan blockbusters. Or that the budget wasn't huge. It just feels like a smaller movie with a smaller scope.

The Prestige is a "bigger" film with a third of the budget. Does that make sense? I don't think physical action set pieces determine how big or eventful a movie is.

EDIT: I should mention - Dunkirk is a really crazy innovative film. And it really challenges what a summer blockbuster is and what it can be. It's super unique. I can't really think of anything like it.

Great points all around, though.
