remember when it was suggested that Nolan left Talia's death in because Marion was secretly filming another movie?
It's more likely that Nolan was going for something a little heightened or cheesy, like a Bond villain death. But it just doest really work. Could have been edited around, but they didn't.
Nolan has said before that he's trying to capture a sort of "live performance" quality, and that comes with flaws.
Sorry, this is really old but when I entered this thread this was the page it left me on, so I just wanted to say...
There's nothing in the film that says Talia dies in that moment. Sure, the script and novelization do, but the novelization also says she's bloodied and clearly on the ropes. In the movie though, we don't see any more shots of her or anything like that. She just went through a tormenting fall, maybe took one to the head. Who's to say she didn't pass out? They arrest her after the bomb is taken care of, and Bob's your uncle.
Even 4 times in now I'm still catching a line of dialogue or even little shots I somehow completely missed the first few times. Are you having a similar experience with 8 times? lol
