"Dunkirk's so far. Why can't they go to Calais?"

"Dad! Dad, he got him!"

"Best of luck, Collins."

An oldie, considering it's in the prologue:

"He's on me!"
"I'm on him."

And at the end:

"I'm staying behind. For the French."

"Be careful down there."
"He's dead, mate."
...
"So be bloody careful with him."

So sad.

"Is the boy going to be alright?"

Also the line some random soldier told asking Collins "where were they when they needed them" felt like a small punch to the gut.

"Survival's not fair."

---

"All we did was survive."

"That's enough."

Both delivered by Alex, but I thought these played into 'Survival is victory' so well.

what Collins says when Peter saved him. I'm smiling all the time at this scene (didn't quite remember what line it was in english, bc i watched it in the different language (only once in english) ... but i think it was "Afternoon".

... and then some people saying dunkirk has no humor

You know you're watching a Nolan film, when a character says the theme out loud.

I loved Rylance's response. Adorable and almost childlike.
