Emoji drops on Sunday. Pretty frontloaded even for animation standards. Good, fuck 'em.

Dunkirk wins the 2nd weekend, but it will be close.

And it would be nice if they allowed you to pick and choose and compare any movies that you want, instead of having to request it.
Yes, the phrase "comps" is just short for "comparisons." Back when BOM had a paid premium option, you could do your own showdowns between movies. But you also paid for access to the ticket price inflation adjuster. I'd much rather have free access to the ticket price adjuster and less options on the showdowns than have to pay for access to any of it.

Dunkirk ended up around $11.5m for Saturday and Emoji was around $9m. That puts Dunkirk on pace for about $28m weekend assuming 25% Sunday drop. Emoji on pace for around $26m weekend.

Balance has been restored.

Next weekend will be interesting. The Dark Tower is next on Nolan's plate.

All is well.

Dark Tower is tracking for 20 mil., not sure if Dunkirk has the necessary drop, but the legs will hopefully be there.
