So if Dunkirk manages to "scratch and claw" (as Benzilla so eloquently put it) to $190 million domestic, an Oscar re-release could help it push past $200 million domestic.
Where did you get that $512m number? There is zero evidence based on theater count that the film was at $512m when they expanded it for Oscar season. More like $530m at the time. Look at the week to week theater count:

There was a dollar theater expansion in November, which happens for all big blockbuster movies. Was already north of $528m at this point. It didn't receive the Oscar theater expansion until January and by that point it was over $530m.

It won't. This is going to be a very slow weekend at the box office overall. For the 4-day weekend, Dunkirk will make around 4 million, maybe a tad more.

Still, we expect Nolan’s fanbase to turn out in droves this weekend, giving Dunkirk a three-day debut in the vicinity of RMB 180-200 million ($~30 million), on par with Valerian‘s opening last weekend.

In the end, Dunkirk will struggle to reach Hacksaw Ridge‘s impressive total and will finish a subpar Chinese run (given Nolan’s previous successes there) with RMB 400 million ($60 million).

Pre-sales in China has been out of control. As in pointing to a total run of $100M.

An $35M+ OW is the floor. Could breakout with a much higher number.
