That type of bomber jacket was quite common in the RAF, due to the extreme cold when flying. I am not saying that Hardy is not a pilot but where there are photos of Lowden in a spitfire there are none of Hardy. No doubt he is a pilot but not necessarily a spitfire pilot, they are also using a Bristol Blenheim which must come into it somewhere.

They made a lot of shots with the Spitfires in Dunkirk, Urk, Lee-on-the-Solent and now in Point Vicente with the replica.
