Article about Premium VOD (Video on Demand). Warner Brothers is one of the studios that wants this. Movies could be streamed at home within weeks of cinema premiere, at a premium price of $30-50.

Excerpt:
The heads of Time Warner Inc.’s Warner Bros. and 21st Century Fox Inc.’s Twentieth Century Fox, Kevin Tsujihara and Stacey Snider, have publicly advocated for premium VOD in the past few months. Jeff Shell, who runs Comcast Corp.’s Universal Pictures, has been a leading voice behind the scenes.

The issue is expected to be widely discussed at next week’s CinemaCon, an annual convention for theater owners at which studios tout their coming releases.

If the two sides fail to reach a consensus soon, at least one studio may force the issue by announcing a premium VOD policy, people with knowledge of the plans said. Other studios would likely follow suit, forcing theaters to cooperate or lose out on hundreds of releases.

Haven't Nolan been pretty vocal against stuff like this? Wonder if he's gonna switch studio for his next film.

Nah, WB will just make an exception for him, the same way TDKR and Interstellar were 2D even though that meant WB would lose out on 3D ticket price inflation profits.

Variety even says:
[...] but other players like Warner Bros. and Fox seem more amenable to having a different release pattern for different movies. In that kind model, bigger franchise films that tend to have longer runs in theaters might be held back from release on demand.

Well, at first with other Nolan's trailers. But i followed them for too long, I'm their slave now.. and one day they'll choose to destroy me.
