I was JUST looking for these numbers. Hmm, so Interstellar scraped out Monday, lost Tuesday (due to a school holiday), but close to doubled yesterday! It should be mighty interesting to see if Interstellar claims #1 this weekend...before of course Hunger Games knocks down both films the week after...braungeo123 wrote:Interstellar did $3.4 million yesterday

It'll be interesting, but I think Big Hero 6 wins the weekend as well. More kids will be seeing daytime showings of BH6 I would think. Never know though.lcbaseball22 wrote:I was JUST looking for these numbers. Hmm, so Interstellar scraped out Monday, lost Tuesday (due to a school holiday), but close to doubled yesterday! Depends how well Dumb and Dumber To does as well
https://twitter.com/boxofficemojo/statu ... 6404304897'Interstellar' opened to $5.4 million in China yesterday (that's higher than 'The Dark Knight Rises' and 'Gravity').
$121.1 million overseas so far.
Gonna make absolute bank overseas. I predict long legs in the US. Come January it'll still be moving along with such crap in theaters then.
Well Dumb and Dumber To is 39% on RT. But then it's up to the general viewers for the box office numbers for Dumb and Dumber To.CoRohr wrote:Depends how well Dumb and Dumber To does as well

dumb and dumber to looks...well..dumb, I hope Interstellar can hold and take no 1 or retain no 2, Im thinking for fri-sun maybe in the 20-25 mil range, hoping for 30+mil maybe a shot at 100 mil domestically...i think it'll finish around 150-175.
love the title on BoxOfficeMojo...
not if they opt to see Interstellar instead...

It will be interesting to see how much Interstellar will get in China during the weekends.
Heard some people say the fact that it's not in 3D hurts the numbers.
But there are also a lot of ppl who really appreciate the fact that this is one of the rare instances where a foreign film isn't shoving 3D down their throats just for the sake of 3D....
