The interviewer of Bale's interview spoiled the ending!

He basically confirmed Batman does not die

I just watched that interview, and
it doesn't really give anything away, he's just asking him if he'd be willing to come back, which has been asked 100 times. Aaron Eckhardt and Maggie were asked in several interviews for TDK if they'd come back for another Batman, and both of their characters died.

We need to have a better understanding as a movie-loving community what it means when somebody says a character will live on. Look, whether or not Batman lives/dies in the end of TDKR is not what's being referred to here. Batman, as a character, has survived decades of storytelling. Whether he lives, dies, or get cut into thousands of tiny pieces or whatever, he will still be Batman. And Batman can be rebooted, stories can be altered and characters can be changed.

I don't think the interviewer's seen it. He's just asking standard industry questions. And Bale's answers are non-committal.

Exactly. Batman survived Burton and Schumacher. And with how great the Nolan series has been, there's no reason to think Batman will go the way of Superman any time soon.
