D-IMAX presentations all have files that have gone through the exact same DMR process as the film prints, the sound is literally exactly the same, and although not 15/65mm, the digital projection is still some of the nicest in the world. I mean, it's definitely not as good, but you're really not being politically correct or unbiased with that headline. Especially since some of the largest screens in the world are now digital as well.
There's no denying that D-MAX theaters are great for films not natively shot on IMAX. Perhaps we're just lucky in Florida because we have 3 of the largest 1570 theaters in the region, but the D-MAX theaters at the local AMCs and Regals don't compare in size. The sound is great, and so is the clarity and the brightness, but the screen size and ratio just fail in compassion to a 1570 theater. Besides, the prologue won't go through the DMR process if it's only playing on film projectors.

The release was through AMC. AMC is talking about its screens in relation to the prologue. This does NOT apply to other theater chains. So relax, folks. This only applies to AMC.

Let me put it this way, folks:

If your theater has a FULL-SIZE REAL IMAX screen, you will be getting the prologue. If you don't, you won't be getting it. Simple as that.

1st: Please don't double post.

2nd: You make two points and they seem to contradict each other. If your first statement was true, why would AMC hold out and not play the prologue on digital screens? To let Regal steal away all of their business?

Your second point just states what we already know.

Because AMC's IMAX screens are LIEMAX screens.
You know there are full screen REAL IMAX screens that are digital projection, right? Why would they NOT show the prologue???? The same theaters that in 2008 showed The Dark Knight prologue. This news, the way you guys are reporting it, makes absolutely no sense. And please, there's no need to be rude.

If your IMAX is a REAL IMAX then yes, they will be showing it. AMC is totally misleading. They are saying that it won't be playing on their digital screens because all their digital screens are LIEMAX screens.

Shut the fuck up, motherfucker. Your ass is supposed to be banned from this site. The way you claim the story to be makes no sense. You're a fucktard. There are plenty of 'LIEMAX' screens owned by other chains. And don't break a bunch of rules then tell me not to be rude.

You're clearly confused on the matter. AMC clearly stated that only their 15/65mm will be showing the TDKR prologue, despite what a digital IMAX's screen size may be. AMC has 15/65mm IMAX theaters. When people say "real" IMAX, they mean IMAX theaters that project 15/65mm film- it's not just about screen size. I couldn't even imagine seeing a digital presentation on a 7-10 story screen. The pixels would be the size of bricks.

TDK's prologue was released prior to IMAX's debut of their digital systems.

Ok, it says 1570 instead of D, but it also gives a date at the far right (assuming "conv." at the top of this last column stands for conversion). So this means that this theater was converted to digital on that date and therefore would not show the prologue, right?
