dustbust5 wrote:Thus, final shot was an appreciation of Bruce being alive metaphorically, via the statue, the rebuilt light, and of course Robin. It didn't mean he survived and escaped to Europe, where he could literally live FREE. It meant that Alfred understands, and thus we can understand, that his spirit is now FREE, Alfred can smile now knowing he did well by Bruce, that was always what the dream was about.
I think all the "final" scenes are
real--especially the last two, the cafe scene and Blake finding the Batcave.
I like some of your interpretation of Bruce's character, but. . . .

There is nothing IN THE FILM--editing, sound, lighting, you know, the actual movie as it is shown to us--that suggests that it is otherwise.

In the end, I'd like to think that Alfred
found out about Bruce being alive WAY before the final cafe scene. In fact, since he inherited Bruce's money, I can see Alfred being nearby if Bruce needs him--and to pay the bills. "Where to this month Master Wayne? Switzerland? Monte Carlo? How much will you need. And Miss Kyle, please try to avoid the casinos, if at all possible."

Better ending.

More importantly than that being a solid ending—
it also made me smile.

I was really happy with the final scene in terms of the films as a trilogy.

There is a massive ethos in this final scene about redemption and being able to have your happy ending.
Especially in terms of how Blake and the orphans worship bruce as the person they can be
The final shot made me think....
It is amazing in terms of the ending, but i couldnt help thinking it could have gone (till lady) "I have a Robin Blake?" to which he responds that its him. The whole i like your name thing felt a little forced
This is my only gripe, im happy with the cafe scene and i am happy with this being the end of my favourite trilogy ever.

STOP OVER THINKING IT

The ending is real and Awesome, But if you stay for the credits..........Nolan shows the top still spinning.......................Just kidding. But it would've been funny at the end of the credits.

Thanks! In my head, that's a scene I'll add to the film each time I watch it.

That would have been hilarious. Maybe it will be on the DVD.
