but neither Heath nor Tom were/are Method actors

the thing Heath did was IDEAL inspired acting...its what any actor who takes acting seriously strives to achieve every time

once you enter that realm of acting, there's no better....there's no lesser, its a matter of different

 I never said they were, i just mentioned it because i am more knowledgeable about method acting as opposed to other varieties... and the fact that method acting incorporates the most crucial formula into acting: "to give a lifelike performance through genuine emotional experiences felt on stage/camera"..

a formula (i am almost certain) both Heath and Hardy used for Dark Knight and Inception respectively.. (and yes that doesn't make the method actors per say)

and btw i am sure you are already aware, but modern "Method Acting" is derived from Stanislavsky's classical method..
if Stanislavsky would approve of that is another question altogether.. but there is no questioning the resemblance..

So Tom's performance, technically speaking, cannot be better...there is no higher plateau for acting....he can be different, but just as captivating if Tom achieves complete inspired acting

for example...Bale achieved it in The Fighter....he did what Heath did. The result is different, but it is impossible to truly say which is better....they exist at the surface of the fish tank and there's no higher level

Stanislavsky said that in every great performance the actor captures the audience's attention with the physicality and the voice, and then reveals the soul through the eyes. In my opinion, thats what made Heath's performance so good. That's what made Bale's performance so good. That's what will make Tom's performance.
indeed.. glad you agree

that is a "formula" used by any type of acting, not just method

and Stanislavsky found the "method" rather funny, when he toured the US....he said the American teachers completely misunderstood his system

nope... you are limiting the definition of "acting" exclusively to one school of thought.. there are plenty out there that couldn't
careless about genuine emotion and simply care about appearance and the proper delivery of the script..

please respect the diversity.

I don't care about who "tops" who... I'm just excited to see what Tom and Nolan and team do with the character of Bane (as well as Selina Kyle!).

I have faith in Tom Hardy and Chris Nolan to equal Heath's Joker.

I doubt it will be topped as the characters are too different IMO

who doesn't care about genuine emotions in film acting? while some actors may not be able to deliver it, that doesnt change the fact that that is what they aim to do....don't confuse their lack of ability for lack of intention

I do not even think it is an argument that he is the best in all of comics.
Agreed. But I DO think that Tom's Bane can bring something NEW and ORIGINAL to the Nolan Batman universe, and I look forward to seeing what he does with it. :D
