Noone said he was a bad actor but he is a mediocre actor. He's afraid to fall on his face, he's afraid to make a bad decision and wind up looking stupid, so his acting comes out predictable and stale.
Franco has tons of bad performances, but also some very great ones...and that's because he takes risks, that's what it takes. JGL has been cruising at mediocre his whole career, playing it safe.
