And as for Selina Kyle's role in TDKR, IGN reported recently that Nolan's story will find Catwoman filling the void left by a fugitive Batman, with her vigilante activity prompting Batman's return.
:?:

Where did IGN get this info? And how come no one else has reported it? Are they making this up or speculating? Until I hear otherwise I still think its possible we may only be seeing Selina Kyle. The press release says Selina Kyle.

Batman comes out from his three year disappearance in order to stop another vigilante called The Cat. In the process he runs into a vengeful foe who knows his identity called Bane. Now as Batman tries to stop a vigilante who thinks like him he must also decipher how Bane knows Bruce Wayne from his childhood and what compelled him to seek vengeance.

Screen Rant has a very nice article regarding the possibilities of Bane in TDKR. Since this is going to be a "new interpretation" of the Bane character, we might probably end up seeing an amalgamation of characters in Bain. We must keep in mind that one of Bane's main characteristics (from the comics) is that he is pretty much a genius, a person who grew up in a very, very violent environment who demonstrated early in his childhood and development a high capacity for learning; in the comics he developed a master plan to weaken Batman and solely by observation deduced Batman's true identity. Therefore, we might see in Nolan's Bane some characteristics shared by other Batman foes, say like: Dr. Hugo Strange. Dr. Strange was obsessed with Batman and also figured out his identity, and was also a genius; so, who's to say that we my see a Bane/Strage amalgamation in Nolan's Bane character? Who knows, but for me, that'll be something interesting.

Also, on Selina Kyle, she could be a high-end, socialite prostitute/call girl who moonlights as a thief by knight, who somewhat gests involved with Bruce Wayne; although the possibility of Wayne getting involved with a call girl is kind of far fetched, she could share some of the same high-end social events, as an escort for some big-money fat cats, the kinds of friends someone like Wayne may have ("a fundraiser with my pals, you'll never need another cent..."), a kind of character that could also be fascinated with Batman and tries to find his identity.

The possibilites are endless, but we have to trust that Jonah and Chris Nolan have come up with a intelligent and cohesive story and script that will give us one great epic final Batman movie.

I think Nolan's Bane can be a member of LOS who assumed the post as Ra's Al Ghul and wants to continue what they have already tried: destroy Gotham. As for Catwoman, I hope she is a thief, I love that side of her and her taunting Bats about he also being an outlaw.

that idea is quite pathetic in my opinion, the league was a thing of Batman Begins, I don't see why they would have to go back there in terms of story, characters like Rachel continued in The Dark knight because it was part of Bruce's life, villains like Scarecrow continued because it was a loose element, Batman and the rest of us saw Ra's die in that train explosion, the league of shadows is fucked, end of their fucking story.

ha ha dude, with all due respect your friend is more stupid for saying all that shit than me for thinking he's dead, I don't know Nolan personally but I'm pretty sure when Ra's closed his eyes after batman left him in that train he was pretty much insinuating Ra's was giving his final good bye. Al Ghul was so blinded by his mission of destroying Gotham he never thought Bruce would stop him, he even thought Batman was just "trying" to stop that train, beyond that, he doesn't have a cape or a grapple gun or super powers, he was just a criminal with a plan. And let's not go for the Lazarus pitt crap now please, his immortality relied on the fact that he became a underground legend by using his intelligence, his huge sense of morality and the art of deception.
He faced another motherfucker with a greater sense of morality - the Batman in his own city, HE FAILED, he died.

I'm agreeing with OVERMAN on the Ra's Al Ghul bit. He's dead. Nolan wouldn't fall into the cheesiness of bringing characters we were made to believe are dead or are dead back into the series. It'd be pathetic.

If we do get Talia as the second actress then it would bring the League of Shadows thing full-circle, which is nice, but at the same time it's only one of many possibilities. I really think I'd prefer to see Bane just do the whole "take over the criminal scene, hastle Batman with psychos to wear him down, break the hope of Gotham and submerge it in criminal misery" thing. Whilst the LoS aspect of Bane could be interesting, I like his original story most out of all his appearances.

I initially thought it may end up with Selina Kyle replacing Azrael in the killing of Bane after he's defeated Batman, but it feels like it would be just a repeat of Harvey's fall to become Two-Face, so I think they'll be tangential in their relationship at best.
