What is this referencing?

First I thought you might have been talking about There Will Be Blood.
It's a reference to the controversial/lame cliffhanger ending to Halo 2.

I don't know about a "worst" way for TDKR to end (for it to have a band ending, it is a physical, technical and philosophical imposibility), but I for sure know that the end scene will have an epic Batman-Gordon dialog over one of the most awe inspiring and epic scores of 2012...

I'm sorry, it is "bad ending" not "band ending", please excuse my typo.

Turns out that in Batman Begins when Bruce and Alfred were on the plane flying back to Gotham after leaving Ras Al Ghul they actually crashed and died.

Everything since then has been an illusion from Bruce's perspective in terms of him not crossing over because he is still holding on to the pain of his dead parents. The scarecrow man, and clown terrorist are all just enemies manifested in his mind reflecting his fears. The events that created the two faced man were merely a reflection of how Bruce feels responsible for his father's death.

During TDK Rises Rachel Dawes returns with a baby, a french accent and gun and she is actually Lucius Fox's father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.

Ras was using Bruce to find the mysterious Island, he arranged the whole thing to get to the island and destroy it. Alfred actually convinced Bruce to build the bat cave in order to protect an absolutely pointless button and push every 5 minutes for absolutely no reason at all. Gordon, protector of the light which he uses to call on Batman, is actually aware of this and is guiding him on a path to realize the truth that Bruce can only face on his own.

The truth that Gotham City is actually purgatory...

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (from purgatory)

Here is the worst way to end The Dark Knight Rises:

At the climax of the film, Batman breaks into Tiffany's at midnight. Does he go for the vault? No. He goes for the chandelier; it's priceless. As he's taking it down, a woman catches him. She tells him to stop. It's her father's business. She's Tiffany. Batman says no. They make love all night.

In the morning, the cops come and Batman escapes in one of their uniforms. He tells her to meet him in Mexico, but Batman goes to Canada. He doesn't trust her. Besides, Batman loves the cold.

Thirty years later, he gets a postcard. Batman has a son. And he's the Chief of Police. This is where the story gets interesting: He tells Tiffany to meet him in Paris by the Trocadero. She's been waiting for him all these years. She's never taken another lover. Batman doesn't care. He doesn't show up. He goes to Berlin. That's where he stashed the chandelier.
