The Mad Hatter

Have you guys seen the trailer for Alice in Wonderland? Johnny's portrayal of the mad hatter looks incredible. His accent and movement is so rich and vibrant. And then he has that manic laugh at the end. He's almost like a cross between jack's and heath's joker. This got me excited at the prospect of him being in the next batman.

I don't think that in the 3rd Batman film there will be a villian similar to the Joker. That was the main problem of Batman Forever: there was the Riddler and Two-Face, two famous villains from the Batman Universe but both of them was just laughing like an idiot... or more like the Joker. If in the 3rd Batman movie Johnny Depp (or anyone) will play a villain, it shouldn't be similar to the Joker.

i guess so

but i didnt imply that depp should necessarily play a villain with jokeresque qualities...and im sure that if johnny took on the role of the riddler he would stray away from anything that regurgetating old conceptions

I have one question (off) Why is it that in Alice in Wonderland there are villains from Batman? (Mad Hatter, Tweedledum, Tweedledee)

For me it was okay but in the universe that Nolan has put I think that the villains should be more serious than The Joker

Those are originally characters from Alice in Wonderland, they were adapted into Batman villains by comic book writers who used them as inspiration.

Unlike a lot of people, I don't want to see Johnny Depp in the next Batman film. It would be a different story if he was cast because he was the best actor for the part because he can definitely act. My issue is that his star power would overshadow the role. Nolan's Batman films have usually cast lesser-known actors and I suspect this will continue.

There are loads of well know iconic actors in Batman.

Morgan Freeman, Sir Michael Caine, Heath Ledger, Liam Neeson, Arron Eckhart, Christian Bale.

Why not Johnny Depp who can transform himself like he has done in films like Edward Scissorhands, Blow and Donnie Brasco. The same thing

All well-known iconic actors, none of them I'd consider to be movie stars of the level of popularity of Depp. I have nothing against Depp and think he's a fantastic actor, but he's played so many of these crazy, loopy roles that it'd be an incredibly obvious choice if he ended up being cast as a crazy, loopy villain. If he actually ended up being cast in the next Batman film I'd be behind it, but for now, I'd prefer someone lesser-known.

I agree with that. He'll stole the whole show, and i think that the movie could suffer for that.
