In the sense of
- the really dark and heavily emotional tone
- the hero's struggle with depression and becoming a hero again.
- the really complex themes, metaphors, and allegory.
- the way it goes against the ways of the first two films/first five seasons, it has a different, more adult feel to it.

I think so, it's an awesome comparison, best Batman movie, best Buffy season.
