I came into this movie with very low expectations not having enjoyed The Dark Knight than I probably hoped to have. I also didn't think Nolan had anything more to say by the end of the Dark Knight. This movie turned out to be a very pleasant surprise for me. A very fun ride all the way although I still didn't like how the first 6 minutes went.
Great job Nolan. Now, I look forward to non-Bat films from this maestro.

Greg-BTD wrote:I have finally seen TDKR!!!, the film came out July 25 here in Belgium, unfortunately i couldn't see it sooner because of my work, but yesterday with highly anticipation i finally saw it!
I waited 4 years for this movie, i remember when TDKR was officialy annouced, from that moment on, i was checking IMDB always for the latest news and rumors, and then last year i joined this fantastic site, the filming for TDKR was about to start at that time, so with great joy i was coming to NF forums every single day to know about all the production news and set photos, i was literally counting down the days.
Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and Inception are my favorite films of all time, these films will always be a very big part of my life!
I remember seeing Batman Begins in the cinema back in 2005, i was 16 at that time, when i saw that film my life and my personality actually changed, it's hard to explain, but mainly because of Chris Nolan my life changed back then, that's when i became a Chris Nolan fan, so these films mean a lot to me!
When i was sitting in the cinema yesterday i realized that special day had finally come!!!
here is my review with spoilers:
Now if i want i can talk all day and write a 10 page review about this Brilliant Incredible Film,
but i'm not gonna do that, this is good enough. Hehe
The thing i also love so much about this trilogy is that each film is different in his own way, three different kind of films, of course you can debate which film is the better one, but i don't see it that way, they all had some of the same elements of course, but BB had a different unique theme and feeling, just like TDK and TDKR, they all had they're own different kind of unique theme and feeling, and that's what make this the greatest franchise/trilogy of all time!
When i woke up this morning, knowing that the franchise that i always loved the most has ended forever, it was very strange, emotional and sad, knowing that this was Chris Nolan last Batman Film, and also the last time seeing Christian in the Batsuit, it is truly a bittersweet feeling, but for me this was the perfect conclusion to the greatest trilogy and franchise ever,
and i wanna Thank Chris Nolan and Christian Bale and EVERYONE who worked on this beautiful franchise!
TDKR is almost perfect, the story was brilliant, the acting was outstanding, EVERYTHING WAS ALMOST PERFECTION!
The Dark Knight Rises is BRILLIANT, FANTASTIC, INCREDIBLE, BEAUTIFUL, AWESOME and EPIC!!!
Score: 9.5/10
And this is my final score for the The Dark Knight Trilogy:
Batman Begins: 9.5/10
The Dark Knight: 10/10
The Dark Knight Rises: 9.5/10
Thank You again Chris Nolan for making the greatest and my favorite Films of all time,
and also Thank You for changing my life!!! :goNF: :goNF: :goNF: :goNF: :goNF:
Amen!

Hell, they kiss in the ballroom scene and Bruce seems pretty stunned (in a good way) that it happened. They're pretty consistently playful with one another.
Once again, he fixed the autopilot then lied about it to everyone. Come on people. Think.

Bruce was intrigued by her from the very beginning. The ballroom scene with them going back and forth in a witty and flirtatious matter was great!
TJ418 wrote:Make no mistake it was right after he met Selina that Bruce decided to return to the real world again . She peaked his interest , and not merely because she was a thief . . He showed up at her home for crying out loud . They were two broken people looking for a fresh start , and they found it with each other
Exactly!
Third time today (three times in four days), what is wrong with me!
What if...
I have not problem with that.
What if...

I am a die hard Christopher Nolan fan....So I was eagerly looking forward to The Dark Knight Rises....To be honest it didn't live up to my expectations. The best thing I like about Nolan's movies he makes the plot so believable and intriguing. TDKR although it was visually appealing, lacked the firepower according to me....Some noticeable loopholes.
Bane breaks Batman's back and anyone who knows a thing about back injuries they take a long time to heal or often never heal...hence in DC comics Batman has to pass the mantle to someone else...However in the film the prison inmate tells that his vertabrae is jutting out and fixes it with his hands....I found that too lame and hard to digest....
I found that in his bid to provide a fitting conclusion to the Batman franchise, Nolan tries to weave too many plots without tying them up properly...Blake is shown as the successor to Batman...but he is just a rookie...How can he take on the mantle without any prior training....
Batman surviving the nuclear blast was something that I found hard to digest... Even if the BAT had autopilot mode the film shows Batman in the vehicle with 5 secs remaining... It is practically impossible for someone to survive even if he jumped in the sea...
I thought bringing up the whole League of Shadows was unnecessary and deviated from the main story of Bane....
These glitches if it had come from any other director would have been accepted but Nolan who I consider as one of the best storytellers and directors of modern times; this was unexpected....
Overall Rating 7/10

Does he break Batman's back? I think it was more that he screwed Batman's back up. Where does it say in the film that his back is broken?minair wrote: Bane breaks Batman's back and anyone who knows a thing about back injuries they take a long time to heal or often never heal...hence in DC comics Batman has to pass the mantle to someone else...However in the film the prison inmate tells that his vertabrae is jutting out and fixes it with his hands....I found that too lame and hard to digest....
He's shown discovering the Batcave. Doesn't mean he'll become Batman. And even if he does I doubt he'll be jumping across rooftops that evening. But then - as Ra's Al Ghul said in Batman Begins - "training is nothing, the will is everything."I found that in his bid to provide a fitting conclusion to the Batman franchise, Nolan tries to weave too many plots without tying them up properly...Blake is shown as the successor to Batman...but he is just a rookie...How can he take on the mantle without any prior training...

The League of Shadows WAS Bane's story.I thought bringing up the whole League of Shadows was unnecessary and deviated from the main story of Bane....
Yep, you are absolutely right. I saw it again. And now film is almost perfect for me. The great final of trilogy. And ending is so awesome!DKnight007 wrote:Asanty wrote:Hi all. I am back. Finally I watched it. Of course In IMAX. The wait is over.
Well, I really enjoy the movie. The most emotional Nolan film, ever. It had more theater impact on me than TDK and almost the same like Inception. It was massive, epic and spectacular. The last 20 mins were jaw dropping. Cast ensemble is just so solid, everyone brought their A game. I was amazed by Hardy, really close to Joker. The such threatening power. Brilliant body language and eyes acting. Then I was impressed by Hathaway. She just nailed this role so perfectly and owned the first part of film. The best female in Nolan films ever. I want to Nolan direct her again!!! All action scenes and fights were awesome. That battle in sewer was so chilling!!!
My complaints:
The script is not ideal, plot holes.
Too many characters. Modine is really useless , sorry but too much JGL (of course he is future Batman but anyway...).
Catwoman is underutilized, especially in the second part, Gordon as well...
Some scenes were edited so fast, it bothered me every time (Gordon hospital scene, some Lambo scenes...). I had feeling that they were cut. It was really unNolanish... It would be great to get directors cut on BLU RAY.
Definitely needs the second viewing. For now 9 out 10.
And my trilogy ranking

2nd, 3rd and 4th viewings of this film are mandatory IMO.
