I asked him what he wasn't excited about and he said he hated BB and TDK because of Christian Bale's Batman voice. I was like SERIOUSLY DUDE?!?! He said he really liked the Joker, but he didn't like this version of Batman and the movies didn't feel like a Batman movie. For a second I thought maybe he knew what he was talking about so I asked him if he had read any of the comics/series or GN's like the Long Halloween, the Killing Joke, or Year One and he said no he was basing his opinion some episodes of The Animated Series and the Schumacher movies. I said OHHHHH and turned around and ended the conversation. The Animated Series is fine, but that alone isn't enough to based an educated opinion.
The hate on the Batvoice is such an overblown bandwagon thing. I understand why people didn't like it in TDK but no one was complaining about it in BB but when TDK came out, suddenly it's the worst thing ever (they'd say even in BB), Batman sucks, blah, blah, blah. I'm convinced that even if Batman speaks in his Bruce Wayne voice, people would still be complaining just because it's the "cool" thing to do. :judge:

I know a guy who hate Nolan's Batman, because he doesn't like Bale. Oh, and he's never seen Casino Royale because "Daniel Craig is ugly" and he wants to see only handsome actors on screen

I don't think the Bat-voice is bad. It's menacing. Batman isn't supposed to be talking anyway, he's supposed to be beating the crap out of people. With that said, though, the Bat-voice in TV spot #10 for TDKR is perfect.

I went off on a kid in my Film Noir class last year, because he said, "Ironman was better than TDK. I can't stand Bale, and the movie was too long. Harvey Dent becoming Two Face would've been perfect as an after-the-credits scene" I had to defend Nolan so many times in that class, even to the teacher. The consensus was that he's "sold out" by making the Batman movies.

This thread has become my favorite, and my least favorite thread, all at the same time.

Film school was the worst place for a Batman fan. Our instructors just hate on it for the sake of hating it. You could legitimately make a case for it as a better film in nearly every aspect of filmmaking to any film in history. In many cases, it isn't. It's just one fo the best ever, but not THAT best ever. But I could probably win a debate if I had to prove it. People are so fucking ignorant that they use petty excuses like "It's too long" or "Not enough Batman" or "Why did they change Rachels" as reasons for hating a movie. I really despise people who over-simplify a film (complex or not) simply for the sake of disliking it. And trust me, there will be plenty of haters for TDKR.

I like this thread because I can vent out but I hate it because I hate hearing the idiocy of people.

I've developed a special fear toxin which I've applied to the worlds water supply. It is designed only to react to all haters of Chris Nolan and his batman films. Tomorrow the world will watch in glee as all Nolan haters destroy themselves. The movement back to harmony will be unstoppable this time.

Of course. Over time, our weapons have grown more sophisticated. With Nolan haters, we tried a new one - the movie Inception. But, we underestimated certain haters and competition. Such as Marvel's Avengers. The premiere of that movie galvanized the haters unto saving themselves and have limped on ever since. We are back to finish the job. And this time, no misguided fan service will stand in the way.
