I'm starting to write a new feature-length screenplay, it's an adaptation from a book I loved and this isn't meant to be nothing more than just a mere writing exerciser.

I wanted to add from time to time symbolic scene which add no context whatsoever. For example, one scene is a small glass cylinder exploding, but with a black background, hence there is no location nor time.

What IYO* should I write in the scene heading of such scenes?

*Does it exits? It's supposed to mean "In your opinion"

Int. Unknown location - unknown time

Or just "Insert cut: [scene]"
David emerges from the store slowly. He braces himself against a parked car and then keeps on walking in a nightmarish daze.

WE PULL BACK as David blends in with dozens and dozens of ordinary people, walking on an ordinary street, in an ordinary city.

I'd say:
INSERT CUT: SMALL GLASS CYLINDER EXPLODES. SPACE. BLACK.
Would be the most accurate, or something similiar to it.

Sorry for my ignorance, but why "SPACE"?

I always start with

INT. Location. Time

for example..

INT. Warehouse. Day.

Yeah.

INT. OFFICE - DAY

That's the perfect scene heading layout.

Just for curiosity, what is the name of the book?
