that recorder allows you to output 4k at 422, right? what does it shoot without the recorder?

1080 4:2:0. i use the pix mostly as a monitor. it only does prores which have huge files and imo 4k doesn't matter unless you're doing effects stuff

was thinking of shooting 4k and finishing at 1080p ProRes for the master, but you're right the quality difference probably isn't worth the file size for a run n gun film school project
-you don't get enough space (1hr of 4k is ~350 gigs)
-even if you did youd have to upload all the footage
-you can't edit from the cloud

if a drive gets fucked you have the ability to attempt to recover the data
if the footage disappears from your cloud or there was an issue uploading or downloading your footage or google suddenly wants to charge you more what are you going to do?
