Well, AVATAR winning doesn't guarantee anything. It simply suggests that the Golden Globes might be more likely to vote for a really popular, big budget movie than the academy might be.

i know but inception is way better than avatar, im only think that if avatar won something inception (as a better movie) should win.

The Golden Globes are not the Oscars. That's like saying let's put the playoffs thread in the Superbowl thread.

Globes are a joke. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association are a pathetic bunch of attention whores. Many of the voters are bought off each year.

If anything, Avatar winning at the GG means that Inception probably will not. Just the fact they chose avatar shows a lot about them so Its less probable they would choose inception bt not impossible. The oscars are full of pretentious " artsy" ( they wouldn't know art if it hit them in the face) and the GG don't even know what they're doing so if inception doesn't win in those 2 it would mean nothing.

I kind of agree with that, but I think that most of the films that win out at the oscars (the 'artsy' films like 'The Kings Speech') aren't coming out until after the 14th, as the case normally is with academy award winning films. What else that you've seen this year is going to win? There are some, of course - The Social Network, but I can't think of many others.

y'all need to realize when Avatar got nominated (and won) it was still currently still in theaters. It was the hot ticket going at the time. Inception got the problem of being a summer film! The chances aren't as strong. Summer blockbusters tend to get overlooked.

the king's speech isnt an artsy film....its a great entertaining drama full of comedy thats disguised as a period piece, but thats not the driving force behind it
