The film has already done really well for what it is. It would've been nice to beat Avatar but that would be a "dream".

Avatar and Inception doesn't really have anything in common.

Avatar = Shallow unoriginal story, wide audience range, money machine.
Inception = Deep complicated original story, smaller audience range, art.

Couldn't agree more, except I dont know much about unoriginality in the Avatar story since I'm not much into this kind of films
