OVERMAN wrote:dude the guy was just asking for our opinion about a topic, leave him alone, if you think it aint gonna be iconic just say no, I think there is a chance for it to be iconic, a lot of films have characters that become iconic after some time, you can't tell what's gonna happen.

well it's not about leaving alone it's just that... i can't understand why people can't wait for a movie to come out and comment after it... most of these guys who praise actors, directors, and movies that ain't seen the light of the day yet, that are already saying... this or that will be clasic, iconic, best ever and so on are a bunch of kinds or stans and I'm trying to make him realize that he's wasting time on unanswerable questions right now... how about I'll make 300 threads/day about every character of inception that might become iconic or how about I'll make each day another thread about how many days till the release of inception are or how about I'll make another 300 threads about what if ledger was instead of di caprio or how Nolan is the god of Hollywood.... smh.... kids need to wake up and stop jumping from a bush to another... i don't have nothing with dude... but as a Nolan fan these discussions and topics and dumbass questions are getting ridiculously repetative and we still have a month till the movie comes out ... imagine how many threads like this we have to support no wonder Nolan hates the internet and doesn't pay much attention to it because of things like this... early assumptions/rumors/wack discussions/stanism at it's finest... etc.

I don't expect him to be. Nolan's only real iconic character so far has been Ledger's Joker. Not to say that Cobb won't be a good character; just that Nolan's characters are usually more complex than they are fuel for popular phenomenon. In fact, I'm not even sure if Cobb will be the most memorable character of the film. Sure, he's the "emotional core", but the main character isn't always the most iconic. We remember the shark and Quint more than Martin Brody, we remember Tommy more than Henry Hill, we remember Jack Sparrow more than Elizabeth, etc.

Watch Hard Candy.

so you cant explain it?
Well if you find it the same to play a sophisticated, semi-psychopathic girl that's involved with a sexual predator and an immature pregnant teen that's trying to figure out her life and the meaning of love is the same to you then I guess there's no point in even arguing with your flawed logic. I seriously don't understand why you even post the things you do sometimes, i know you have the right to your opinion, but please use some logic next time.

Are there any other contenders for most memorable characters in Inception at the moment? For me, it would probably be Eames because Tom Hardy is my favourite actor (this is EamesInception speaking), but the character of Arthur seems pretty cool, so does the character of Marion Cotillard (mainly due to the fact that she's dead, she's Cobb's wife but she is a 'twisted' character... wtf?).

The character which will cause the real turmoil in the movie is gonna be MAL. I just can't fit that role in the premise of inception.

you musnt confuse the mood of the movie, or the actions of the character written in the script as part of the ACTING...you don't have to act the mood, its set by the director and the cinematographer....you dont have to act the actions they are written in the script.....are you sure her acting suggests those qualities, or are they suggested by the mood and what arc is written for the character??

how do her rhythms and physicality suggest those things? how are they different from her other characters?

i have a feeling most people confuse these things when talking about acting.....they confuse the mood, and the actions of the character, with the actual acting of the character.

ill give you the argument on Hard Candy...because from the trailer it does look like there's some changes about her....but for the most part she acts the same in every movie....only thing that changes is the script, the wardrobe, the mood.
