Pretty confident this will at least be nominated for best picture. Hoping they'll wise up..

It still irks me The Matrix didn't even get nominated in '99.

The Academy is very narrow minded once in a while.

the academy doesn't matter, the viewers, normal people's recognition, that's all a good filmmaker needs.

The Academy gets lots of pressure.
there was almost uprising when TDK wasn't even nominated for any of the big 5 awards (director, Picture, Screenplay, lead actor and actress)

An artsy movie will come along near the end of the year and screw Inception over, I can bet on it. It always happens. I think it will get the technical awards, judging from what we've seen so far.

Also they might secure a spot there for DiCaprio, but its rare that the Academy reaches out to the actors in sci-fi movies (aka. SAM ROCKWELL!!! Why the hell wasn't he nominated for Moon?!)

Its too early to predict the Oscar nominations, though, so I'm gonna hold my pants up until July 16.
