I would die if Nolan made a horror movie. That would be amazing!

"Thomas told me Nolan is actually interested in putting together a western, but the stars haven’t aligned for that yet."

I really hope he makes a western, his style is perfect for the moral conflict and characters that westerns usually encapsulate. It's also one of my favorite genres and one that hasn't really gotten much attention in the past few years.

"She mentioned that Nolan is keen to do a horror film, something tangible and perhaps cerebral, more akin to “Jaws” than something supernatural."

I think Nolan can make a brilliant horror film, a very down to earth one as well. Something psychological instead of the torture porn and shock-value horror which seems to be dominant nowadays. God knows the genre needs some reinvigoration.

What I also found most interesting was about his cancelled Mr. Hughes film.

"We chatted briefly about Nolan’s aborted Howard Hughes screenplay but she is hopeful they can revisit the project in the future, despite the success of Martin Scorsese’s “The Aviator” in 2004, which played a role in derailing Nolan’s effort."

It's good to see that he may take it up again some day.
I didn't know that Chis Nolan had that kind of projects, A Western that will be interesting when you see the artistic direction of The Prestige which is gorgeous and hapenning in the same time maybe a little later that the Western period, well impatient to see that.

Less for the Horror movie, really not interested in that kind of movie unless Chris Nolan uses the genre to make something different as Mandy Lane.

For Aviator, I hope he will do it because, he said that the script is dealing with the entire life of Hughes and Aviator great movie but stopped when it became interesting when Hughes becomes totally crazy, his worst year, awnfull end.
I wanted to see a more creepy view of the character since I've read Ellroy point of view of the character which is describe as a real basterd

Hello everyone, first time poster here. Just want to say that any of those genres would be great to see. War films have been done to death, but I would love to see Nolan's version. Maybe take on a war that hasnt been done much.

Talking about westerns dont forget "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford", a mouthfull of a title but a great western, I thought. Completely stripped away all romance from the time, sort of like what "Goodfellas" did for the mafia.

Basically I'm okay with any project Nolan wants to do. As long as Batman 3 comes first.

I've also heard a long time ago that nolan wants to make a horror movie,
from the 3choices above,he now have first chosen for si-fi maybe after batman 3 he will make a horror.
but in my opinion its not the best choice for nolan somehow.

He wants to do a horror in the since of realistic horror, like Jaws.

See that sounds more Nolan-esque.

When I think horror, for some reason I keep thinking like Slither, Saw, Hostel, all these gory and disgusting movies.

If Nolan does a horror movie, it can't just be pure horror for the sake of thrills, it should have some psychological. When I first heard of Insomnia as a kid, I thought it was a horror movie just from the trailer. So Nolan could easily do it, just as long as he puts as much thought into it as he did for all his other plots.

I'd like to see ANY nolan project of course :D

TDK was an intense film, which i think is one of the primary components of good horror movies (i'm not a big fan of the gendre though, specially because of all the gore, i find it pretty boring). IMO Nolan can make an excelent one! But i hope he makes the western first

I think both would be brilliant. A western would fit perfectly with the kind of moral ambiguity many of his characts contain. And a psychological horror would be incredibly awesome coming from him.
