Chris Hemsworth is such a Nolan type actor that I’m surprised they haven’t worked

But just for the fact I want to see something different: I’d like to see him work with:

Paul Giamatti
Joaquin Phoenix
Daniel Day Lewis
Samuel L Jackson
Lily Gladstone
Steven Yeun

I don’t know how Tom cruise and Nolan haven’t worked together yet
That would be amazing, but I think Tom likes too much to be the one in charge.
If you look at some BTS he sounds like he is the director.

This is definitely true, but maybe down the road, he'd like to work with great directors again and trust their process. He could easily use his star power and producer abilities to get a director funding on an idea they have trouble with getting otherwise.

Of course, this probably lessens the odds of him working with Nolan since he certainly doesn't have a problem with getting funding at this point.

Yeah, Cruise has been too much of an ego starting around 2005 once he had a mid-life crisis post-Kidman. If he had worked with Nolan during his Eyes Wide Shut, Minority Report, Magnolia, Collateral era, the Nolan/Cruise duo would've been unstoppable.

Cruise would be great now in a supporting role, like a Liam Neeson mentor role in Batman Begins, or Kenneth Branagh in Tenet, but he's past his leading man days for a Nolan film, imo. I'd venture to say Nolan is bigger than Cruise now.
