I guess it's safe to say The Foundation is coming along nicely. :)

On another note, no more collaboration with Chris. :(

What this deal essentially implies, is for Jonah & Kilter Films to take on the kind of role J.J. Abrams has been doing with Bad Robot, or Howard Gordon with Teakwood Lane: develop/shepherd shows with other people. Not just limited to Foundation, which is already in the works with the company & WB (though it probably won't see the light of day until Westworld completely wraps, cause running 2 HBO shows at a time is an insane proposition). He needn't necessarily be the one writing it (like Abrams didn't with Revolution, PoI, Almost Human to name a few; or Gordon with Second Chance, 24: Live Another Day, among many others).

As mentioned in the article, the company recruited Athena Wickham (who is ex-Bad Robot) to head their TV division, around last April (she's already listed as a producer on Foundation). This deal would kick off their developmental slate in full swing. Lot of the PoI guys who're looking to do their own thing, can work with this place to get their stuff off the ground. Denise Thé, for example, is contracted with WB, & is consulting with Gotham in the upcoming season. Given her capacity on that show, her deal with the studio would allow her to also create projects for the studio, too. Doing it through Kilter would be an added advantage, because of the pedigree involved.

At this moment, TV is a better place to be than film. Think Jonah prefers it, too. Think it's fine if he won't be collaborating with Chris as much as he used to before. He's his own man now.

The first project under this deal: Control, set up at FOX.

Created by Greg Plageman.
The project tells the story of a group of New Yorkers in a cross section of the city, all with no apparent connection, save one: they are each filled with anxiety, stress and panic. After receiving an unorthodox form of treatment for their fears, they discover something extraordinary within but they also find themselves caught in the lethal test run by a secretive and all-powerful group.
We'll know by February, if this thing gets picked up to pilot. If it does, be sweet if Greg himself directs it (certainly proved he's capable, with '.exe'). Or if not, Chris Fisher. He's on hiatus from The Magicians during that time, & did indicate he's open to guest directing gigs or the like during then (as well developing his own projects).

If it's shot in New York City, think it's very likely Greg'll hire Michael Emerson. Possibly as the head of that group that's mentioned.
