i`ve always noticed this too, i even see some gate weaving in the credits for every of his films, have to be shot old school but i dont know exactly how they did it pre cgi.nisarshaikh wrote: ↑August 3rd, 2024, 7:25 pmSomething I've been wondering for a while regarding title cards / end credits in Nolan films.
I know that Nolan shoots and finishes on film down to every frame. I noticed his title cards / end credits have a slight shakiness to them and even the fade in/outs are not exactly smooth in the way that a lot of digital movies are. I'm assuming he's not making those titles digitally on whatever editing software he's using.
Is Nolan using some old school methods of creating the title cards / credits? I'm curious as to how it works. Also what does it mean to "finish" on film?
Any experts please chime in as I'm quite curious to know.
The Christopher Nolan Appreciation Thread
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movie ... 236025585/According to one source, the ending of the first movie’s original script featured Phoenix’s Joker carving his face in front of a crowd of his supporters. But The Dark Knight filmmaker Christopher Nolan killed that idea, believing that only his Joker (Heath Ledger) should carve his face. But Nolan is no longer at the studio, and thus there was no resistance to the idea this time around.
Interesting tidbit.
This makes me laugh, but also makes me remarkably angry with WB. Why are they such an enormous group of assholes? It's only respect to Heath. I haven't seen the movie, so I don't even know how it looks - but I think Chris has every right to have intervened.viggykich wrote: ↑October 8th, 2024, 11:35 amhttps://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movie ... 236025585/According to one source, the ending of the first movie’s original script featured Phoenix’s Joker carving his face in front of a crowd of his supporters. He shot the movie on 65mm film, even getting advice from Christopher Nolan and wife and producing partner Emma Thomas, who have experience with large format photography. He said the movie combined Super Panavision with Imax photography in an effort to be immersive.
