Of course he is. The atmosphere in Scott's films is totally unique and Nolan admires it.

I hope Nolan would be more influenced by Ridley's lingering slow moving shots and smooth transitions. Nolan needs to cut out all the abrupt cutting when it comes to editing in my opinion. And perhaps try and make a movie that is not about what all his other movies has been about. Make a movie without tie ins of any kind. I wonder if Nolan could see that as a challenge, or just boring :shh:
I am not complaining..I was just fooled by Inception's trailer and thought he was going to make a heist movie, and not another movie about obsession, sacrifice, dead wife etc etc

I win.
It's obvious with his flashbacks to his wife in Memento with The thing Red Line. Also The Prestige it felt very Malick as well. I also feel Nicolas Roeg is a big influence as well
He's also spoken on it quite a few times. He's huge on Kubrick too.rbevanx wrote:Yeah you beat me to it.steveportee wrote: I'm the first one to mention Malick in this thread.

I wish Nolan would make a movie in Kubrick's style. Really grand and detailed...
With those über long following smooth shots with no cuts.

Atmosphere is the key.
