Peter Jackson is no where near on par with Nolan

yea, that list was pretty shakey. Steven Soderbergh in the top 10? wah? Peter Jackson and several others above James Cameron?

Still.

Yeah, it was a pretty ridiculous list. No one can top Nolan and Scorsese in terms of best directors working today. And the fact that people like Zack Snyder and Sam Raimi are on that list is truly sickening. Snyder is a joke, Raimi is okay. Watchmen and 300 are two of the worst pieces of modern day filmmaking that I have ever seen.

No, and I can't say I cared for Lord Of The Rings either.
Though his next production District 9 looks very cool!
David emerges from the store slowly. He braces himself against a parked car and then keeps on walking in a nightmarish daze.

WE PULL BACK as David blends in with dozens and dozens of ordinary people, walking on an ordinary street, in an ordinary city.

Lord of the Ring's pacing was awful. :(

District 9 is going to be great!! (hopefully). Neil Blomkamp seems like a very talented director. His commercial work is top notch so I am really looking forward to the film.

It was. In his defense (to play devil's advocate) I can imagine it would be tough to adapt something that mammoth and not have it run into some pacing issues though, especially if you are trying to be as faithful as possible. I enjoy the first installment, but they lost me with the last two. Especially the third. WAY overrated.
