It's so interesting how varied the response, even among his biggest fans. For me I'd say Memento is best of the 2000's and Inception is hands down the best film of the 2010's. (coincidentally both of these being at the very beginning of their respective decades but yet still holding off all other challengers imo)
Nolan's downfall.

But I think a very good argument could be made for the last 20 years/2 decades.
For me, ranking directors like that (or any other type of artist) is problematic, there’s no empiric way to assert that one or the other is actually THE best, you can tell that some are better than others, but form there you can only really say wich ones you like most.

After the ongoing online vitriol pointed in Nolan's direction; maybe he should wait a while before making another movie. I can't really think of a precedent for a director being lambasted for everything they say. The public opinion or at least the online nerd apparatus has completely turned on him.

His next movie won't be anytime soon anyway... so depends what you mean by a while.

i feel whatever happens with this WB HBO max thing will be key to what and when Chris decides to do whatever he decides to do next, im not going to lie, im a bit anxious about this whole thing.
