Interesting, but asking native Japanese people would be different than asking Japanese Americans. IMO "whitewashing" is acceptable in certain situations, but the Ghost in the Shell example is not one of those situations.darthnazgul wrote: ↑March 17th, 2017, 5:03 pmI'm not really interested in the film, but:

I'm halfway through this and I have to say, unfathomably based.
I am considering organizing a double-feature screening for my family in my home theater, beginning at 10 PM on June 15th with "Batman Begins," followed by "Batman Forever" at midnight on June 16th. This event will commemorate the significant anniversaries of two iconic Batman films: the twentieth anniversary of "Batman Begins" and the thirtieth anniversary of "Batman Forever." It’s quite surprising that Warner Bros. did not take advantage of this opportunity, especially in light of the positive response to the re-release of "Star Wars: Episode III" two decades later. "Batman Begins" could have greatly benefited from a similar revival, while the nostalgia associated with "Batman Forever" might have drawn in audiences eager to relive the experience, particularly in tribute to the late Val Kilmer's memorable portrayal.
