I've made some shit in my day....don't sweat it, especially if this is a class project. Use something free like moviemaker and there are also tutorials on youtube for doing certain things if you are lost. Keep it all simple and don't sweat the small stuff (details and perfection). Keep it all short and edit out all the junk. Should also be tons of youtube tutorials on just about anything related to filmmaking, camera interviews, etc.
