Even if I haven't seen the majority of his work, that doesn't mean I can't be a fan of his or an admirer of the work I've seen of him.

I didn't say that.
You said that Deakins "never really disappoints", but you really can't say that unless you've seen quite a few of his films (which I really doubt you have). How do you know he "never really disappoints" if you've only seen a handful of his films?
